The Temporal Mandibular Joint is the hinge that connects the lower jaw to the skull. TMJ syndrome is a condition that causes pain and dysfunction. Pain from TMJ disorders can be mild to severe, and can lead to long-term problems if left untreated.
Some of the symptoms can be:
- Pain in the hinge or jaw
- Clinching/grinding teeth
- Frequent headaches (especially in the morning)
- Clicking or popping in the jaw
